Remote Deposit Capture (For Canada and US account holders)
Note: 'Cheque' is spelled 'Check' in the US
Deposit cheques into your Canadian or US accounts remotely and without having to visit a branch using the HSBCnet Remote Deposit Capture service. You can deposit your cheques in two ways:
- Mobile Remote Deposit Capture (mRDC)
- Desktop Remote Deposit Capture (RDC)

Capture images of eligible cheques with your mobile device’s camera and deposit them into your accounts with mRDC.
To use mRDC:
- You must use a supported device (refer to ‘Supported devices and hardware requirements’ section on the HSBCnet Mobile page for details).
- Download and install the HSBCnet Mobile app.
- Your System Administrator must grant you user permission for mRDC and the accounts you’ll be making deposits into.
- No limits on the number of deposits made, but daily maximum value thresholds may apply.
- You must physically be in the US or Canada, to deposit cheques and bank drafts into your accounts with either HSBC Bank USA, or HSBC Bank Canada.

Mobile Remote Deposit Capture (mRDC) - Information for HSBCnet Profile Owners (PDF)
Scan cheques on an HSBC RDC desktop cheque scanner and deposit them into your accounts. This option can be useful if you need to scan numerous cheques at a time.
To use RDC:
- It is recommended that you use a cheque scanner provided by HSBC.
- Install the RDC software from HSBCnet on a PC you’ll be using for deposits.
- Launch the RDC application from HSBCnet to make your deposits.
Conditions for accounts in Canada:
- Cheques must be in the same currency as your deposit account.
- Your account must be located in Canada.
- Currency eligibility for deposits in to your CAD accounts - CAD deposits only, must be drawn from Canadian financial institutions.
- Currency eligibility for deposits in to your USD accounts - USD deposits only, can be drawn from Canadian or US financial institutions.
- Deposits submitted before the cut-off today will reflect on statements immediately; however, funds are only available after clearing.

- Checks must be in the same currency as your deposit account.
- Your account must be located in the US.
- Currency eligibility for deposits in to your USD accounts - USD deposits only, must be drawn from US financial institutions.
- Eligible checks include: US Treasury checks. USD US drawn Personal or Commercial checks. US PMO's and Bank Drafts.
- Customers receive ledger credit for deposits submitted before 10 pm ET.
