[00:00:08 – 00:00:16]: We’ve all been there, rushing out the door, running to another meeting, popping out for lunch. Then that email comes in looking for you to make a payment urgently.

[00:00:18 – 00:00:28]: In the past, you might have made that payment without any thought, but today, we need you to stop, take a moment and satisfy yourself that you know where that instruction has come from.

[00:00:30 – 00:00:42]: Is it really from your boss? Is it from your supplier? Is that the usual email address that you deal with? Or has their email address been spoofed to look similar to your supplier’s company name, or your CEO, or your boss’s email address?

[00:00:44 – 00:00:54]: If you’re in any doubt, pick up the phone to them and ask them if they really made this payment request. If you think you’ve made a payment in error, contact us immediately, because the sooner we know, the sooner we can take steps to protect those funds.
